YEP says: Welcome praise for lifesaving NHS staff

IT must be an incredible feeling to know that you are responsible for saving another person's life.

The story of great grandmother Karen Rice, 63, who thought she was suffering a panic attack, when actually she was having a serious asthma attack, is a real 999 drama.

Yet to the rapid response teams, paramedics, doctors and nurses who work in emergency NHS care, this is an everyday story. The Yorkshire Evening Post has been highlighting these daily miracles since the start of this year through our We Love Our NHS campaign. Some owe their lives to them, but we all owe them our gratitude.
