These are two clubs fighting for the right to play in the Premier League, bringing with it riches beyond the wit of the ordinary person.

The stress which comes with such enormous pressure is bound to occasionally spill over into the argy-bargy we saw. Footballers are, after all, human beings.

It’s ugly. It sets a terrible example for children to follow. It’s absolutely unacceptable. But in the context of what’s at stake, you can see how it comes about.

However, what is beyond comprehension is the unfurling of a Turkish flag by one individual who will claim to be a Huddersfield ‘fan’ seemingly to taunt our fans and the friends and families of Christopher Loftus and Kevin Speight who were both stabbed to death in Istanbul ahead of watching their beloved Whites.

That person is not a football fan, nor should the Huddersfield fans all be tarred with that moron’s brush.

Credit to West Yorkshire Police who moved swiftly to kick the idiot out of the stadium, and tweeting that he will be dealt with today.

Newspapers are often quick to put the boot in to police forces when they mess up, so it is right and proper that the YEP thanks them for having the intelligence to know what was happening and dealing with it so effectively.
