YEP says: Help us to help others in Leeds ths Christmas

Today the Yorkshire Evening Post launches its 2017 Mission Christmas appeal to help disadvantaged children in Leeds.

Every year we join forces with Radio Aire and ask our readers to buy one extra gift this year, for a child of any age.

For families in debt Christmas can be one of the most challenging and heartbreaking times of the year.

We know that the appeal will not solve the underlying problems of poverty in our city but Christmas is a time of year when we especially think of others less fortunate than ourselves, and this is a great way to give something for a very worthy local cause.

As a newspaper the YEP is proud to be part of this campaign, as we are proud of our half and half campaign for St Gemma’s and Wheatfield’s, which will be boosted by the Light Up a Life Campaign, which started on Saturday and culminates with the lights switch on at The Light in Leeds on December 6.

You can also give by attending the YEP Christmas Carol Service on December 7 at Leeds Minster, where contributiions will be asked for to share between the Minster and the YEP’s Half and Half appeal for the hospices. We also invite people to bring a gift for children to place under the tree. These will be taken to sick and under-privileged children in the city.
