The proposals for smartphone m-tickets were outlined by Transport Secretary Patrick McLoughlin who joked that rail ticketing is so complex it should be the subject of a PhD programme. He may well mock. But undoubtedly there’ll be many who regard an m-ticket with a equal trepidation.
