LEEDS HAS more than its share of parks and it is fair to say that some have seen better days.
It’s easy to understand why, with budgets tight, that our councillors prefer to spend their budgets on what might be seen as more urgent causes.
So it is good news indeed that five groups in Leeds have been awarded a share of £1.5 m to transform neglected urban spaces.
These spaces are good for communities and are excellent ways to get our young people outdoors and living healthier lifestyles.
Let us hope that such investment in green spaces continues and that people take advantage of the spaces.
