SAMUEL SAIZ has (rightly) apologised for his 'inexcusable actions' after being sent off for spitting at a Newport County player during an FA Cup defeat - and he's been suspended for six games.

The passion that players have for the beautiful game does sometimes cause it to turn ugly - but passion is no excuse for losing control of your emotions to this extent.

Fair play to him for asking that his club fine be given to the fund to help pay for treatment for Toby Nye - even if £25,00 to him will not be the same as it would for the average Joe.

Clubs and players can be damned if they do and damned if they don’t - as they are seen as a rich seam of cash but they cannot help everyone who asks. So they should be applauded when they do, so well done, the quicker Toby can get his treatment the better and LUFC has made it possible. rk
