Leeds college of Art always had a fantastic reputation so it’s really no surprise that it has been given University status – the only real surprise is that it hasn’t happened sooner

Among its Alumni it can boast the sculptor Henry Moore and the ground-breaking and controversial modern installation artist Damien Hirst who studied there in the early ’80s. But did you know entertainer Frankie Vaughan was a former student.

Leeds already has a fantastic reputation as a great place to be a student, and the College of Art had an enviable reputation in its own right so this can only be welcomed.
