Leeds is now home to a collaboration between one of the city’s newest newspapers, and one of its oldest.

From September, free monthly paper The City Talking will be distributed with the Yorkshire Evening Post as part of a groundbreaking team-up between the two local media brands.

The Yorkshire Evening Post is one of the most recognisable names in the UK local press, and has been a household name in Leeds for decades for its reporting on local news, sport and communities. The City Talking started life online before it made the move into print in March 2013, since when the TCT team have produced fifteen feature-led issues that tell the stories of the subcultures and personalities of Leeds.

Daniel Chapman of The City Talking said of the collaboration: “We are really excited about the opportunities this relationship presents. We’re looking forward to introducing ourselves to the YEP readership, and hope that reading our stories every month will enhance the view of the city they get from their newspaper every day.”

Jeremy Clifford, editor of the Yorkshire Evening Post said: “We are delighted to team up with TCT which we believe will complement our coverage of city life perfectly, helping us both to reach new audiences while holding true to our own editorial styles. It is just the sort of partnership that will help to support city life in Leeds.”

The City Talking will launch in the Yorkshire Evening Post on September 19.
