Tomorrow is the closing date for this year’s Yorkshire Evening Post Best of Health Awards and readers have been urged not to miss out.

For the fifth year, we want to recognise the region’s incredibly dedicated and skilled health care workers who go that extra mile to make a real difference to people’s lives.

Whether they’re doctors, nurses, midwives or members of a brilliant team, we want to highlight their amazing work.

The 11 categories include awards for emergency response workers, mental health workers, practice managers and community health workers.

We’re also looking for carers as well as the unsung heroes who normally stay in the background but deserve to be in the limelight. And there’s a chance to put forward an incredible individual, team or family for the special recognition award.

Nicola Furbisher, editor of the Yorkshire Evening Post, said: “This is your last chance to ensure that the hard work of our wonderful healthcare workers is rewarded.

“We know that there are so many members of staff who have had a huge impact on the lives of their patients.

“We want to hear about these true heroes and give them the recognition they deserve.”

After the closing date tomorrow, our panel of expert judges will draw up a shortlist for each category.

The judges will then pick the winners, based on information provided in the nominations.

Nominees will be invited to a glitzy awards lunch at The Queens Hotel in Leeds on December 5, when the winners will be announced.
