Rather than staff dashing out of the door to make that spin class, the gym has come to them with ‘The Courtyard’ at Wellington Place.

It includes a giant chess board, table tennis, covered seating, an urban gym and a space for yoga – allowing staff to break away from their desks to exercise or unwind at a time to suit them. Dominique Simcox, spokesperson for MEPC, the developer behind Wellington Place, said: “Wellbeing is an incredibly important aspect of Wellington Place and something we continue to be committed to.

“This is the perfect next step, giving people a reason to step outside and take a break.”

Rachael Culpan, HR manager at Equifax added: “It’s amazing to have access to such a great facility a few steps from our office door. It also promotes some friendly competition amongst companies, which is a particular hit with our employees. You simply don’t get this kind of facility anywhere else and we consider ourselves very lucky to be part of the Wellington Place community.”

The space is available exclusively for Wellington Place occupiers to use for free and MEPC plans to expand its range of complimentary classes, from high energy circuit sessions to chess masterclasses, as well as friendly leagues
and competitions between offices.

A recent survey revealed 66 per cent of professionals want to exercise more in the week and 79 per cent felt businesses should facilitate exercise for their employees.
