It’s a “purl” of an idea to help celebrate Mother’s Day.
A Leeds wool shop is on the search for knitted creations of all shapes and sizes to help salute the city’s mums.
Baa Ram Ewe, in Headingley, is looking for pictures of items knitted or crocheted by mums for a special competition.
They are hoping to create a special knitting archive to showcase the woolly efforts by mums across the city.
Verity Britton, who founded the store said: “For so many of us, our first memory of knitting is of our mum making us jumpers or teaching us the basics.
“We want to create an archive of fantastic mum-made knitting or crochet to show all our mums how much we appreciate them.
“The items we’re looking for can be anything from a simple hat or cardigan or an extravagant set of knitted characters – as long as they were made by a mum.
“They don’t have to be perfect, and they can be funny, like a hugely oversized jumper your mum insisted you would grow into.
“We just want to showcase all of the effort mums put into making something special and unique.”
The pictures will be put into a special gallery on the company’s Facebook page and the winning entry will win a hamper of woollen treats.
Anyone who would like to submit are asked to contact the store by emailing email@example.com or visit the store.
