WIN: Name the mascot for Leeds Bradford Airport's new car park to win free parking and fast track passes

To celebrate the launch of Viking Airport Parking, which is just a two to three minute transfer from the airport terminal, Leeds Bradford Airport (LBA) is asking Yorkshire Evening Post readers to name the cheery, bearded mascot.

The person who comes up with the winning name will win free parking and fast track passes for up to five people for their next holiday from LBA.

Spokesman Phil Forster said: “To launch our brand new, low-cost car park, we want the people of Yorkshire to name our mascot.

“Our new parking facility, Viking Airport Parking, is named in celebration of Yorkshire’s Viking heritage.

“We’re now looking for a name that suits our friendly Viking character, who will be keeping an eye on your vehicle while you jet away on holiday.”

To enter the competition, send your suggested name in an email with the subject line ‘Viking Airport Parking competition’ to [email protected] along with your name, address and a contact telephone number.

The closing date for entries is Monday, March 5.

Viking Airport Parking, situated just off the main airport roundabout on Warren House Lane, opens on March 19 and is closer to the terminal than any off-site car park. It costs from £29.49 per week to park there and staff will park your car for you so you don’t need to worry about finding your own space. There are free shuttle buses 24/7 to transfer you to the terminal.

How to enter

The prize draw will run until Monday, March 5. All entries must be received by the Promoter by no later than 23.59 BST on the Closing Date. All entries received after 23.59 BST on the Closing Date are automatically disqualified.

By entering the prize draw you are agreeing that you will be bound by these terms and conditions.

The Promoter will not accept:

responsibility for entries that are lost, mislaid, damaged or delayed in transit, regardless of cause, including, for example, as a result of any equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind; or

proof of transmission as proof of receipt of entry to the prize draw.

A winner will be chosen by the Yorkshire Evening Post after the Closing Date.

The winner will be notified by email using details provided at entry within 14 days of the Closing Date and must provide a postal address to claim their prize. If a winner does not respond to the Promoter within 14 days of being notified by the Promoter, then the winner’s prize will be forfeited.

Eligibility

The prize draw is open to all UK residents aged 18 years or over, except:

employees of the Promoter or its holding or subsidiary companies;

employees of agents or suppliers of the Promoter or its holding or subsidiary companies, who are professionally connected with the prize draw or its administration; or

members of the immediate families or households of (a) and (b) above.

Employees of third party suppliers to Leeds Bradford Airport are not eligible to enter.

Certain prize draws may have additional eligibility requirements such as valid passports, visas, driving licences, good physical health, age constraints etc and it is the prize draw winner’s responsibility to comply with these requirements.

In entering the prize draw, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim any prize you may win. The Promoter may require you to provide proof that you are eligible to enter the prize draw and it is within the Promoter’s sole discretion as to whether or not the requirements have been satisfied.

There is a limit of one entry per person made by a person using their legal name only once. The use of any automated software or other mechanical or electronic means that permits any person to enter a prize draw repeatedly is prohibited.

The Promoter reserves all rights to disqualify you if your conduct is contrary to the spirit or intention of the prize draw. This may mean that you have to return any prize awarded to you.

The prize

The prize is airport parking at Viking Airport Parking for up to 21 days and up to five fast track security passes.

The prize is valid for one booking only at Viking Airport Parking and may not be split into smaller bookings.

The fast track security passes are valid on the car park entry date only and must be used on this date.

The parking is for one vehicle only.

Third party suppliers of prizes may also stipulate their own terms, conditions or restrictions and all prize draw winners agree to be bound by these. Where a prize involves attendance at (or tickets to) an event, the winner acknowledges that the Promoter is not liable if any part of the event is cancelled, varied or rescheduled for any reason. If this means the winner (and or any accompanying guest) is unable to attend the event, the Promoter shall be under no obligation to provide alternative tickets.

Prizes are subject to availability and are not negotiable or transferable. There is no cash alternative for the prize.

Winner announcement

The Promoter will send the name and county of the winner to anyone who emails within one month after the Closing Date requesting details of the winner.

The decision of the Promoter regarding any aspect of the prize draw is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into about it.

Limitation of liability

Insofar as is permitted by law, the Promoter, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where it is caused by the negligence of the Promoter, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.

Data protection and publicity

If you are the winner of the prize draw, you agree that the Promoter may use your name, image and town or county of residence to announce the winner of this competition and for any other reasonable and related promotional purposes.

You further agree to participate in any reasonable publicity required by the Promoter.

By entering the prize draw, you agree that any personal information provided by you with the entry may be held and used only by the Promoter or its agents and suppliers to administer the prize draw.

General

If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions, the Promoter may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude you from participating in the prize draw.

The Promoter reserves the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend the prize draw where it becomes necessary to do so.

These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law, and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
