Why this Leeds car park is the world's third coolest

THE car park at Victoria Gate shopping centre has been voted the third '˜coolest' in the world after thousands of people voted for their favourite.

Located at the £165m shopping centre, it takes architectural inspiration from the city’s history using twisted aluminium fin cladding that creates a diagonal grid pattern, which is emphasised by shadows.

Quick Parking Morelli – based in an underground cave in the centre of Naples – came in first place with just over 39 per cent of the votes, followed by AZ Sint-Lucas in Belgium with Almost 20 per cent.

Victoria Gate came third with 11.4 per cent of the votes.

The shortlist was compiled by design website DesignCurial and airport parking site Looking4.com.
