White Rose Shopping Centre Sainsbury's police incident: Cyclist taken to hospital as Dewsbury Road closed from Tingley Interchange

A car and bike collided on the Sainsbury's roundabout near to the shopping centre at around 4.20pm today.

The rider has been taken to hospital but there has been no update on any injuries yet, according to police.

Dewsbury Road has been closed from Tingley Interchange towards the White Rose roundabout as a result of the incident.

Motorists are being advised by police to avoid the area at this time.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: "There has been a collision between a car and a pushbike on the Sainsbury’s roundabout, which was reported at 4.19pm today.

"The rider has been taken to hospital.

"No update on injuries yet.

"Dewsbury Road has been closed from Tingley Interchange to the White Rose roundabout inbound into the centre, so we would advise motorists to avoid the area at this time."
