Lions president Robert Rolfe said: “We are again putting on the popular Prosecco Bar, which seemed to go down well last year.

“There will also be a range of soft drinks for non-drinkers and children.

“Our Lions Ladies will be providing traditional pies and mushy peas and there will also be a barbecue in the courtyard.”

Live music will be provided by the Suit Case Dwellers and there will also be fun and games for the children.

The Yorkshire Air Ambulance needs around £12,000 every day to help keep its two helicopters in the air. This is the equivalent to £4.4 million per year.

They operate from The Nostell Priory Estate, near Wakefield, and RAF Topcliffe, near Thirsk, covering the whole of the county.

Mr Rolfe praised the charity’s work and added: “The Yorkshire Air Ambulance carries out such a fantastic job for the people of Yorkshire in providing emergency medical cover.

“All that we can hope for is some fine weather.

“We look forward to seeing old friends and new comers alike to help the Air Ambulance funds.
