wet and wild: Thousands take on obstacle course

Have your say

Thousands of hardy competitors trudged through mud and clambered over obstacles as the demanding Tough Mudder contest arrived in Yorkshire.

The event at Broughton Hall, near Skipton, is one of the latest in a global series of endurance events where participants attempt 10 to 12-mile long military-style obstacle courses.

Organisers say Tough Mudder Yorkshire, which took place on Saturday and Sunday, saw entrants “run over rough rolling fields, head though daring woodland and step over streams, bogs, and of course lots of mud”.

Among the competitors were Jack Brannan of Cleckheaton and Alan Hinton of Knaresborough.
