Two pupils from Pudsey Grangefield School are continuing their fundraising efforts by hosting their very own coffee morning on Saturday.

Friends Katie Handley and Emily Hancock, both 14, have previously been involved in several charity events to raise money for dementia.

Now the duo are fundraising for Macmillan Cancer Support and have organised the venue and all the ingredients for their coffee morning.

They have also been raising awareness locally by promoting their event in shops and giving out leaflets.

Katie’s dad Matthew said: “I feel that for two 14-year-old school girls to do this is commendable.”

The event will take place between 10am and noon at St Thomas Church, Stanningley.

People can tuck into cakes, biscuits, crisps and hot drinks and there will also be gluten-free options.
