A community Post Office in Bramley will close for refurbishment as its services and opening hours are revamped.

The Post Office branch, in Fairfield Mount, will close on Tuesday November 18 from 5.30pm so that it can be fitted with a new “combination counter” so customers can access services including special delivery, local collect, home shopping returns, online banking cash deposits and withdrawals closer to home.

The facility will also open on Monday to Friday, from 6.30am to 8.30pm, on Saturday, from 7am to 8.30pm, and Sunday, from 8am to 1pm, when it reopens for business on Monday December 1 from 1pm.

Subhash Patel, owner of Fairfield Estate Post Office, said: “As a community retailer we are delighted to offer Post Office services in our store; local residents will now be able to access a wide range of Post Office services during our shop opening hours – 37 and a half hours a week more than previously offered.

“I’m looking forward to introducing my existing customers to the new service, and welcoming new people to the store. I’m confident they will be pleased with the flexibility and convenience of the new Post Office service.”

During the refurbishment customers are to be directed to nearby branches in Swinnow Lane and Summerfield Drive.
