FOR NEARLY the last century a west Leeds village football team has been pitched in the heart of the community.
And supporters have witnessed both the highs and lows of the season for Farsley AFC.
Founded in 1908, the local football team has had a long proud history as Farsley Celtic rising to the top-tier of non-league football in the middle of the last decade after beating Hinckley United in the play-off final.
But the club’s future was thrown into turmoil after they went into administration. But like a phoenix rising out of the ashes Farsley AFC was born five years ago.
The YEP has been given a behind the scenes glimpse from the sideline at the club, which still attracts a couple of hundred people each week.
The club’s base at Throstle Nest also hosts a variety of youth teams throughout the week.
