Sun worshipers flocked to Yorkshire's parks and beaches as a blazing heatwave has hit the region over the last two days. Temperatures reached a scorching 29.3C in Sheffield and 27.8C in Leeds yesterday, while today is officially the UK's hottest day of the year - with meteorologists recording a temperature of 33.3C at Heathrow Airport. A serious level three heatwave has been put in place, but the weather isn't set to last. Thunderstorms are set to hit Yorkshire on Friday, bringing to an end to a glorious few days of sunshine.
