That is the question on residents' lips as the heavy rain is expected to be replaced this afternoon with potential snow showers.

A yellow weather warning for snow and ice will be in place across the city from 3pm today - issued by the Met Office.

The full warning issued by the Met Office - available here - reads: "Snow showers will effect many northern and eastern parts of the UK, which may lead to travel disruption.

"There is a small chance of travel delays on roads with some stranded vehicles and passengers, along with delayed or cancelled rail and air travel.

"There is a small chance that power cuts will occur and other services, such as mobile phone coverage, may be affected.

The forecast for Leeds today is: "Cloudy with showers. Colder into the weekend with snow showers.

"Showers or longer spells of rain, falling increasingly as snow over higher ground and perhaps to lower levels inland later today. Feeling very cold everywhere with a strong easterly wind, with coastal gales possible. Maximum temperature 6 °C.
