An update on the company's website this morning stated that there were still homes in the LS12 area without power, although only a small cluster of properties were still affected.

There are currently less than ten homes without power and the power cut is expected to be resolved by 4.30pm.

Northern Powergrid said: "Our team are working hard to restore your power as quickly as possible

"The power cut affecting your property has been caused by an unexpected problem with the electricity cable that serves your area."
