Experts at the Met Office have put in place a yellow weather warning for both rain and wind for Leeds on Saturday.

Heavy rain is forecast to hit just after midnight tonight (Friday) and will continue until around 7am.

Rain: Heavy rain may lead to some flooding and disruption to transport

- Bus and train services probably affected with journey times taking longer

- Spray and flooding on roads probably making journey times longer

- Flooding of a few homes and businesses is likely

Wind: A spell of strong winds is expected to move northeast across a large swathe of the UK through Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning

- Some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport are likely.

- Delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges likely.

- It’s likely that some coastal routes, sea fronts and coastal communities affected by spray and/or large waves.
