Leeds weather forecast: cloudy and foggy conditions in store for New Year’s Eve celebrations

With the New Year almost upon us, many will be planning to head out this evening to celebrate the close of 2019 and ring in a fresh start.

If you will be hitting the town later this evening, here’s is what the forecast has in store:

Outlook for New Year’s Eve

Some foggy conditions are expected to develop this evening, with patches forming through the start of the night and becoming a little dense in parts.

Some cloud is forecast to build from the south with fog in hilly areas, and there is a chance of some light rain, although this will mainly be over higher ground.

Temperatures will be rather cold heading into the night, dipping to 4C at 7pm, with a minimum forecast of 0C.

A cloudy start to 2020

New Year’s Day (Wed 1 Jan) will be cloudy for the most part, but will remain mainly dry throughout.

A few breaks in the cloud are expected between 10am and 1pm, with conditions becoming more overcast by early evening. Temperatures will peak at around 8C.

Thursday will see the weather turn a little windier, with some rain likely for a time, although it will feel slightly warmer at around 9C.

Conditions will remain breezy on Friday, with a mix of some showers and bright spells, while a brief colder outbreak is likely on Saturday, at a marginally chillier 7C.
