Leeds Christmas weather forecast: Christmas Day expected to be dry and frosty

Christmas Day in Leeds will dry and bright after a frosty start, according to weather forecasters.

Sadly it won't be a white Christmas this year, but at least there's not a huge amount of rain expected, according to forecasters at the Met Office.

Tomorrow (Wednesday) it will be cloudy with outbreaks of rain, heavy at times, especially over hills.

It will feel cold with a brisk northeasterly wind developing.

On Christmas Eve, we're expecting a bright start and dry day in general.

An area of high pressure is expected to the west of the UK on Christmas Day bringing cold and generally dry conditions for most.

After a cold, frosty start it will stay mainly dry with sunny periods.

Boxing Day (Saturday) will see a return to unsettled weather with outbreaks of rain and showers in the northwest gradually spreading southwards accompanied by strong winds.

It is expected to stay unsettled for the rest of the weekend and in the run up to New Year.

Outbreaks of rain, heavy showers and strong winds are likely.

Christmas Eve: Four degrees maximum temperate, no rain expected

Christmas Day: Five degrees maximum temperate, no rain expected

Boxing Day: Eight degrees maximum temperate, rain expected from mid-afternoon and into the evening

Sunday 27: Five degrees maximum temperate, heavy rain first thing followed by sunny intervals

Monday 28: Five degrees maximum temperate, cloudy changing to sunny intervals by late morning
