The bank holiday weekend is just around the corner, but what will the weather be like in Leeds over the next few days?

What will the weather be like over the weekend?
Leeds will see sunny intervals during the morning on Saturday (29 August), turning cloudy by lunchtime.

Hide AdIt will remain cloudy throughout the rest of the day, with a peak daytime temperature of 15C.
The Met Office forecast for Yorkshire says, “After a chilly, bright and breezy start, cloud will slowly thicken with the odd light shower affecting coastal parts. Most places seeing some sunshine at times. Windy with coastal gales.”
Sunday (30 August) will again see some sunshine during the morning, turning overcast by lunchtime and remaining so for the rest of the day. Again, there will be a peak daytime temperature of 15C.
Chief Meteorologist at the Met Office, Frank Saunders, says: “We’ve seen a real mix of weather this August - with a heatwave earlier this month and in the last week we’ve had two named storms bringing very wet and windy weather across the country.

Hide Ad“With high pressure on the way this weekend we’re going to end the month with much more settled weather, with plenty of late summer sunshine for many. It’ll be a dry weekend for most areas too, though eastern areas can expect a few heavy showers on Saturday.”
Mr Saunders adds that it will feel quite cool despite the sunshine, as northerly winds bring below average temperatures for the time of year, with highs of around 16 to 18 Celsius.
At night it will feel quite chilly, with temperatures dropping to single figures for most areas.

Hide AdOn Bank Holiday Monday (31 August), Leeds will be cloudy but dry, with some sunny intervals during the morning. The city will see a peak daytime temperature of 16C.
The Met Office forecast for Yorkshire says, “Winds easing overnight, then mainly fine through Sunday, Monday and Tuesday with sunny spells by day, but some cold nights.”
Commenting on the weather following Bank Holiday Monday, Deputy Chief Meteorologist Chris Tubbs, said: “Later on Monday low-pressure will once again start to edge its way in from the Atlantic and it’ll turn cloudier with outbreaks of rain for Northern Ireland, with cloud and rain spreading to the rest of the UK by Tuesday.
“It’s likely to stay unsettled into the remainder of next week as we begin meteorological Autumn, with spells of wind and strong winds at times.”
