FOUR homes were evacuated after a landmark water tower flooded earlier today (Monday).
The water tower at Moortown Reservoir saw water enter around seven properties in the Fir Tree Vale area.
A Yorkshire Water spokeswoman said: “Equipment failure led to one of the tanks at Moortown water tower overflowing earlier on Monday. The tank was quickly repaired to prevent more water escaping but unfortunately water entered the homes of nearby residents. Some will have to be temporarily re-homed.’
“Yorkshire Water staff helped residents assess the damage and provided clean up assistance.”
