Wakefield: Police plea for witnesses to suspected abduction

POLICE are investigating the suspected abduction of a woman in Wakefield last night.

A member of the public reported seeing a woman apparently being pulled in to a red saloon car on Lingwell Gate Lane, Lofthouse, just after 11.30pm.

The car, which is described as being similar to a Vauxhall Vectra, was driven away towards Outwood.

Det Insp Paul Harrison of Wakefield CID, said: “We need to check to this woman to see if she’s OK. It might have just been a bit of an argument between partners that spilled out on to the road, but we need to know everything is OK. “Are you the woman or man seen? Or did you se the incident? If so, please contact officers immediately.

The woman is described as white, aged 18 to 30 and 5ft 5in tall with shoulder length blonde hair.

She was wearing a denim jacket with a white top underneath.

The man is described as white and aged around 25. He was stockily built with short dark hair. He was wearing a grey T-shirt and blue jeans.
