The wait is finally over as Tour de Yorkshire arrives in Calderdale

The countdown is finally over as the first-ever Tour de Yorkshire hits Calderdale today (Sunday).

Since kicking off on Friday, the race has exploded through the county, taking in some spectacular Yorkshire scenery along the way.

And today will be no different as Calderdale grabs a piece of the action.

Crowds are expected to turn out in their thousands to welcome the Tour into the region and the atmosphere promises to be electric as the elite cyclists blaze through our borough.

The third, and final, stage will begin in Wakefield at 12.30pm, before heading to Barnsley, Holmfirth, Marsden, Slaithwaite, Ripponden, Cragg Vale, Hebden Bridge, Haworth, Addingham, Ilkley and Roundhay Park, Leeds, where there will be a sprint finish to bring an end to the inaugural race.

The Tour will arrive in Ripponden at 2.13pm, Cragg Vale at 2.34pm and Hebden Bridge at 2.42pm.
