People in Leeds are being urged to nominate their unsung heroes of hospital care for a special award.

Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust has launched its staff awards, including an unsung hero award voted by the public, to recognise and celebrate the achievements of its 15,000 employees.

Nominations for the Time to Shine Awards, sponsored by the Leeds Teaching Hospitals Charitable Foundation, must be submitted by August 28.

Julian Hartley, chief executive of the hospital trust, said Leeds hospitals are full of staff who “go the extra mile on a daily basis”.

He added: “Through our Time to Shine Awards we’d love our patients their families and the community of Leeds to nominate a deserving member of our staff for our unsung hero award.”

Visit leedsth.nhs.uk and click on the Time to Shine Awards logo to nominate a member of staff at the trust.
