The city’s historic Kirkgate Market was transformed into a retro fair this weekend, with more than 40 stallholders selling a host of vintage items.

Purveyors of vintage items turned back the clock on Saturday, offering gifts from bygone eras at Europe’s largest covered market.

The Vintage Fair is one of several organised by AdVintageous, which runs a series of retro fairs throughout the year.

The company boasts “the finest purveyors of vintage, the cream of vintage entertainers and a whole host of everything vintage crammed into our one day events”. Natasha Harper, a vocalist from Sowerby Bridge who performs as Cilla Black, entertained punters with 1960s set throughout the day.

Kirkgate Market recently started opening regularly in the evenings, offering street food, music, prosecco and craft ales.
