Vigil to be held to promote peace on spot where Irfan Wahid died

Friends of murdered teenager Irfan Wahid have arranged a peaceful vigil on the spot where he died.

Posting on a Facebook page set up in memory of the 16-year-old, a schoolfriend appealed for people to 'sort out their beef' by shaking hands and making peace at the gathering.

It will take place at 3pm on Thursday at the spot on Harehills Lane where he was killed by a stab wound to the chest.

The post reads: 'I would like every Muslim and non-Muslim to who knew or who didn't know Irfan to come down to the place where he was attacked and sort out our beef, show respect to one another, and to make Irfan proud. If any of us has a bad relationship with one another then I would like all of you to just shake hands and show respect to Irfan, because we cannot afford to lose another beautiful soul.'

It was shared on the page 'Gone but not forgotten - RIP Irfan Wahid.'
