Roller skaters from the Moxi Skate Team, which was founded in America, visited pupils at Sharp Lane Primary School to show off their moves - including hand stands and flips - as part of a UK tour.

Reception teacher Helen Laird, who is the UK member of the Moxi team and has been skating for about seven years, said: “The children really enjoyed it. They were all saying, ‘Wow!’ and were in awe.

“For them it’s quite exciting and they’re now looking forward to having their own roller disco next week.”
