Travellers at Leeds Bradford Airport got to sample the golden age of air travel with a trip on a vintage plane.

They supped Champagne before taking a scenic flight on a KLM Dakota DC-3 to celebrate the airline’s partnership with the airport.

Originally built in 1944, the model was the world’s first ever commercial aircraft.

It was also used in the Second World War with the 8th Air Force and became the first official Dutch government aircraft. It was retired in 1975 before being put back into service in 1998.
