Video: Three men rescued from boat after it caught fire during Storm Jake

A fishing vessel with five crew issued a mayday saying the boat was on fire, approximately 37 nautical miles off Newlyn, Cornwall.

The crew were able to put the fire out, but three needed medical assistance after it was reported they were suffering from smoke inhalation. The Coastguard search and rescue helicopter based at Newquay winched the crew from the vessel onto the helicopter and took them to hospital. The remaining two crew were able to stay on board and take the fishing vessel to Newlyn. The Lizard RNLI lifeboat escorted the fishing vessel to ensure it arrived safely.
