Video: Storm Imogen covers sea town in foot deep foam

Thousands of homes in the West Country were left without power yesterday (Mon) as Storm Imogen swept across the region.

The Environment Agency issued 27 flood warnings and 74 flood alerts as 80mph winds and 60ft waves battered the coastline. More than 5,500 homes across the South West and Gloucestershire were without power yesterday morning as the storm moved in overnight. A spokesman for Western Power Distribution said: “We are currently dealing with 59 incidents across the South West. “Around 2,850 of our customers are currently affected.
