Video: Police hunting pair of would-be robbers who failed to steal from a bank despite being armed with a tire iron '“ and a ten-inch blade

The two men stormed into a high street bank armed with deadly weapons but left with only a customer's wallet and phone after a brave member of staff refused to open the security door.

The first man held a member of staff at knife-point and demanded the security door be opened. The brave staff member refused, while the robber swiped a phone and wallet off the counter, while a second man guarded the bank’s entrance armed with a wheel-brace. Both men were then seen speeding off in grey Honda Accord with blacked-out windows.
