The retail and visitor destination will open to the public later this year and will replace Red Hall Nursery in Whinmoor, which was first opened by the council in 1956 in the old kitchen gardens of the great house ‘Red Hall’, originally built by a wealthy merchant in 1650.

The Arium will produce 3.5 million bedding and 250,000 edible plants for use in community parks. It will also provide support to all areas of Leeds though the ‘in bloom’ initiative. The nursery will also have a children’s play area, nature area, picnic area, café and shop.
