Video: Man dresses up as a rabbit to greet traffic every month

A mysterious giant white rabbit stands on a bridge at the start of every month to wave at passing motorists.

The 6ft tall unusual sight, intended to bring people joy and luck, is dressed in a colourful waistcoat and scarf, waving and making the peace sign at passing vehicles.

After spotting the bunny in Barnes, west London, passerby Sarah Travers tweeted: “What on earth was this white rabbit doing at 8am this morning on the terrace?”

The rabbit is in fact a project by a performance artist called Spike McLarrity who started popping up at Barnes bridge in November last year.

He said: “Happy first of the month. Some nice interactions this morning, one woman came up and wanted a photograph as no one believed her last month when she saw me, and a gent with his dog got me to hold his dog.

“Take time to breath, enjoy the beauty of the misty days, the unknown, the adventure that awaits you every day throughout this month of November.”
