LEEDS Rhinos star Joel Moon showed he is a cut above the opposition as he prepared for his side’s First Utility Super League Grand Final clash with Wigan Warriors.

Joel headed to Yazz Number One Hair Studio in Rawdon today (Oct 7) for a trim that will ensure he is looking his very best during this weekend’s massive match at Old Trafford.

The Aussie centre, who is a regular customer at the salon, chatted with excited staff as creative stylist Ashley Wallis went to work.

And salon owner Paul Shakeshaft said they were delighted to have played even a small part in the build-up to what promises to be one of the year’s biggest sporting events.

He told the Yorkshire Evening Post: “We’re all really excited about the game so it was good to be able to get Joel polished up for the occasion.

“I’m sure everyone here will be glued to the action at the weekend – and keeping a close eye on the haircut, of course!”

A win over Wigan would complete a clean sweep of available trophies for the Rhinos and make this season the most successful in their proud 125-year history.

Saturday’s eagerly-awaited match will be watched by an unprecedented sell-out crowd of more than 73,000 fans as well as millions more on TV.

The YEP is asking Rhinos supporters to send the team their good luck messages for the game by e-mailing yep.newsdesk@ypn.co.uk or tweeting us @LeedsNews.

We also want to hear stories from fans who are going that extra mile for their side – for example by making special journeys from abroad to take their place at Old Trafford.
