Around 1,000 people marched through Leeds today to pledge their support to the NHS.
Healthcare campaigners and political groups from across Yorkshire joined forces for the event, and gathered in front of Leeds Art Gallery before setting off on the march just after midday.
Organisers claimed the gathering was the largest demo in Leeds since 2000.
NHS staff joined patients and members of the public for the march, which saw the Headrow and Park Row closed to traffic while the group set off. The route continued down Boar Lane and up Briggate before returning to the start point for a rally.
Issues raised included cuts, privatisation, and a reduction in bursaries for student nurses.
