Video - Half of learner drivers take free lessons with a parent to save cash

Half of learner drivers take free lessons with a parent to save cash - but they pay a price in stress instead, new research suggests.

The study showed stress-inducing side-effects of learning behind the wheel with mum or dad include being repeatedly yelled at (15 per cent) and parents grabbing the wheel during lessons (10 per cent).

And one in 20 learners (five per cent) said they almost had an accident while having a lesson with a parent or family member.
