Video: Guitarist got the shock of his life when a foot-long snake gate crashed their rehearsal
David Doherty, 54, was practising with friends in his back garden when a pal noticed something drop from above and slither under his furniture.
Panic broke out in the studio as the band realised the snake was hiding underneath a chair but thankfully David’s brave wife Nicola Brierley, originally from Africa, came to the rescue. Nicola calmly removed the non-venomous Kingsnake which wrapped itself around her hand. David, who hates snakes, said: “As soon as it landed you don’t want to know what I thought. “I couldn’t believe it. I thought I need this like a hole in the head. It’s been in a box ever since, behind me.”
