There are tall hopes for this adorable calf - yet to be named in a public competition - who was born at Flamingo Land Resort near Ripon on Sunday, March 22.

The little girl is a rare Rothschild Giraffe - one of 700 in the world - and was bestowed upon happy giraffe parents George, eight, and Lizzy, five.

She has sister Pixie, born earlier last month, and two half-brothers by George Rufus, four, and Brad, two.

George, born at Woburn Safari Park, is a lucky man having, two mating partners.

The species are listed as Endangered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) with their population still on the wane.

The little bundle of joy brings the zoo’s herd to seven.
