Have your say

They have played to a TV audience of millions and won a legion of fans along the way.

But yesterday, (Dec 12) pupils from Dewsbury’s Thornhill Community Academy - the school at the centre of Educating Yorkshire - brought a different type of entertainment to their elderly neighbours.

The school’s choir visited the Fieldhead Court nursing home in Dewsbury to perform a host of festive ditties for residents.

Educating Yorkshire, commissioned by Channel 4, has become the TV hit of the year. Speaking to the YEP earlier this year, head teacher Jonny Mitchell said: “The programme has been a huge boost for us, there is such an air of positivity in the school.”

A special one-off catch-up episode will be screened over the Christmas period.
