Video - Drug supplier takes police on dangerous car chase hitting speeds over 100mph as he tried to evade arrest

Ryan Cross, 24, hurtled through villages close to York at more than twice the speed limit before he eventually hit a lamppost, fell out of his mother's BMW and tried to run away.

Prosecuting Mark McKone told York Crown Court that he had topped 110mph on the A1 before overtaking a line of traffic on the York outer ring road and driving on the wrong side of the road. During the chase, Cross threw ecstasy worth more than £2,000 in street deals out of the car window but still had 68.5 tablets on him when he was arrested. Altogether, the Class A drug was worth nearly £2,400 and Cross also had £696 in cash when he was arrested which was confiscated by the court.
