Detectives have new lines of enquiry that could help them solve the 50-year-old murder of a Wakefield schoolgirl.
Elsie Frost, 14, was murdered on a towpath near the Calder and Hebble Canal in October 1965.
Officers investigating the case are appealing for information to identify a previously unknown man in a white coat on a bicycle who was seen near the murder scene on the afternoon she died.
Speaking at the scene on Friday, Det Chf Insp Elizabeth Belton, who is leading the reinvestigation. said: “This was a vicious and brutal attack on a young innocent girl.
