Video - Dementia sufferer, 93, reunited with old jazz band after 25 years

A 93-year-old pianist with dementia has been reunited with his former jazz group 30 years on after a touching appeal to find people for him to play with.

War veteran Edward Hardy ended up with no one to jam with when he was diagnosed with his illness and moved to a care home. But at the end of last year kindly carers helped him post an online appeal for musicians to accompany him. Over 80 people replied to the ad, which was posted on Gumtree - including Edward’s former bandmates. Since then, the elderly musicians have spent hours rehearsing for a reunion show.
