Video: Audi driver caught hitting speeds of 149mph during terrifying police chase that ended when he ran out of PETROL has been spared jail
Officers on street racing patrols tried to pull over Thomas Alsopp when they spotted him parked across an emergency vehicle access slip road.
Shocking footage captured from the police car shows the moment the 24-year-old sped off in his black Audi as he was approached. He can then be seen weaving in and out of traffic and driving on the wrong side of the road as officers pursed him along the A38. Alsopp careered through the villages of Minworth, West Mids., and Curdworth, Warks., at double the 30mph speed limit before being clocked at 149mph on the M6 Toll.
