A driver was taken to hospital with serious injuries in the early hours after his car hit a building in Farsley.

The man, 29, was trapped in his silver Vauxhall Astra after the accident on Town Street, near Bagley Lane, around 3.17am.

Firefighters freed the man and he was taken to Leeds General Infirmary by ambulance.

Police said the car was travelling along Bagley Lane, towards Town Street, and at the junction the car hit a building.

Town Street was closed between Bagley Lane and Wesley Street. but has since reopened

Fire crews attended from Stanningley and Bradford.
